You know there are two other posts on this blog dealing with Lori Douglas...and a third post that you commented on that has nothing to do with her...right?

hey here's an idea, read the blog posts you comment on...or even the blogs you head for.

I find it tragic that lives are destroyed publicly by this; families are hurt, friends are lost because of the way in which it is framed.

Why is Lori Douglas' picture present in every article written by the papers when supposedly it was 'Bozo' the King who was the perpetrator of this fiasco. Lori has already been victimized,... putting her photo up victimizes her further.

I am not defending her torrid behavior behind closed doors,... that is entirely her business. We spend our lives being perfect packages; we're all so politically correct.

@#$% the coffee clatter, we need to be accountable to no one but ourselves and the PRESS, needs to check their own morality,.... unless of course all they want to do is sell papers.

Think about it.

Hey Zach
Welcome to Canada.
Her Whoreship Lori Douglas of Winnipeg just joined Her Whoreship Carol Curtis and Her Whoreship Nancy L. Backhouse, both of Toronto, in a "tight" three way race for a crown of the Regina Bordello of Canada.

Queer Ontario to Harper: Back off bawdyhouse provision.
Comment:

If Toronto queers really wanted to embarrass Harper and his government they should resurrect Roman tradition of Bacchanalia culminating in crowning of the Regina Bordello. Toronto could field some very good candidates for this particular title; Madam Justice Carole Curtis sitting at the North York Family Court could be one of them as her claim to that title would be based on a stunt she performed during her university days; in a span of one day she had sex with all members of Concordia University football team. Other good candidate for that title would be Madam Justice Nancy L. Backhouse sitting at the University Ave. Family Court in Downtown Toronto. Her claim to that title would be the fact that she is a wife of Marty Teplisky, prominent Toronto lawyer and very prominent pimp whose escort business is supplying all members of high Toronto society with underage boys and girls for hours of well earned and well deserved fun.

One post back, I commented on the case of Lori Douglas, a Manitoba Judge that has been caught up in what some may call a scandal. Frankly, I think it's mainly a case of people focusing on what other people's genitals are doing.

Anyhow, because this situation involved pictures of the judge in bondage play and performing particular sex acts, people have seemingly been googling about for the pictures which have long since been scrubbed from the public sphere, or so one would hope.

the time is about 3:15 PM and by blog has received hundreds of visits from people looking for these pictures. It's flippin' sad.

I would take a close look at shaw's plans. I think they can outdo the pricing and speed. Also, while it hasn't been a problem for us, so far as I understand it, if you do experience congestion on shaw cable high speed, a phone call to tech support will usually have a van out to service the neighbourhood switch box within a day or so.

The ONLY thing sasktel has going for it is no bandwidth limit but when its slow as all hell, what good is that?

Amen brother. The only thing holding me back from switching is that i seem to be able to sustain 1.0 Mbps download speeds on high speed extreme and I dont think shaw offers something that can match that, especially not in a high=density residential area such as mine.

Well I'm nor so sure that it was a serious infraction of "many laws" as you put it though I wouldn't mind being corrected by you or anyone else who can quote any particular laws that were broken. I have a very jaded view of laws governing commercial transactions so chances are that even if laws were violated in this sale, I particularly, likely wouldn't mind. Depends on the laws and the nature of them.

I don't have any problem with this sale to a "non-Saskatchewan" organization either. We have mining operations, food distribution chains, malls, fast food restaurants, oil field service companies and many other commercial operations (media included) owned by organizations outside of the province. If we wish to see the success of the Canadian economy and by extension our own provincial economy, we shouldn't feel insular and give in to protectionist urges. The SCN will, in all likely hood, maintain a provincial identity as this investment corporation makes it work in a fashion relevant to its consumer base.

Plenty of commercial organizations operate this way. The Mall at Lawson Heights is owned currently by Morguard Investments out of Mississauga Ontario. I'm not sure if the Ontario Teacher's pension fund sold it to them or if they're managing it for them but that commercial staple has been owned by extra-provincial interests for some time and has been of great commercial benefit to the area it serves.

I'd like to know more about what motivates your comment if it's not ferocious partisanship.

What's really disturbing about this is that the sale went to a non-Saskatchewan group with no consultation with Saskatchewan people or offer of sale. Isn't that illegal to sell of government assets without it being made available publicly? If you want a contract at a Crown for example it has to be put up for bid and the public notified properly. I think there is some criminality involved with this sale in the way it was conducted - likely to a company that is sympathetic to the SaskParty. That's a serious infraction of many laws.

This is a positive move in that government shouldn't be in the business of picking winners and losers. The largest outcry was from those people who will lose what they feel is their income stream and their entitlement to get their work created without risk on their part.

I wish the new owners success, but I still likely won't tune in the channel unless there is something good on.

Thanks for commenting Jodie. I don't particularly like your Husband but I admire what he has done in many cases. As well, I think the treatment he has received (and now this comment from Teneycke) is horribly unconscionable. It is an abdication of our judicial sovereignty and a failure to have any regard for the protections that being a Canadian citizen guarantee.

In short, Marc should never have been sent to the United States for a myriad of reasons. It's disgusting what has happened to him as a Canadian citizen.

I don't think they're surprised but likely frustrated. As I said, it's a disingenuous and offensive argument to say that if some one is critical of Israel that the are thusly anti-semitic. Part of what has me so concerned about this debate is exactly what you have explained, they they are expected to parse their words. I have never seen an individual or a group benefit in any intellectual manner by exhibiting fear of frank and open discussion. In fact, I have seen a very obvious type of opposite effect.

I don't think it's too late to embark on a discussion regarding the legitimacy of Israeli statehood. I don't think it's ever too late for a discussion. If it's determined that indeed Israel was not established in a legitimate fashion, it's entirely up to the people in the region to decide if it's too late to dismantle the Israeli state but since the discussion is not currently undertaken in an honest and honourable fashion, it's currently irrelevant. You assert that Israel was established as a legitimate state and that's fine to have that opinion. I'm not a participant in that debate and so I won't argue your opinion. What I am saying is that there is a legitimate avenue of debate that counters that opinion but that avenue is discarded in the vast majority of cases for debate that is motivated by self interest or ignorance, greed, fear or demagoguery. Also, I suppose I will show some participation here by mentioning that I don't believe majority opinion to be a legitimizing factor in debate. I see such a position as nothing more than an appeal to authority.

You're correct also that political discussions (or even apolitical if possible) about Israel's legitimacy fuel Israeli fears. That's something that I think is disappointing and yet another reason why I am so hesitant in participating in this type of debate. I do not wish to argue in the face of fear or other reactionary positions.

I don’t think they’re surprised but likely frustrated. As I said, it’s a disingenuous and offensive argument to say that if some one is critical of Israel that the are thusly anti-semitic. Part of what has me so concerned about this debate is exactly what you have explained, they they are expected to parse their words.
It is too bad that Thomas' & Libbies' comments are interpreted as anti-semetic. It's not helpful. But neither should be surprised - they've been around long enough to know that they need to parse their words carefully, or be sidelined by these allegations.

In any case, don't you think it's too late to embark on a discussion of the legitimacy of Israel? What's the point of even opening it up to debate? It was established as a legitimate state by a vote in the General Assembly of the United Nations, and the majority of countries around the world regard it as legitimate. Not to mention that the 'facts on the ground' are irrefutable in this sense.

Entertaining political discussions about Israel's legitimacy only fuels Israeli fears.

Cheers.

My husband has never hurt another human being, yet our Prime Minister’s ex-communications director openly hopes for Marc to be physically harmed while in US prison. It’s a common perception that prison rape happens in ‘group showers’, so this suggestion that Marc should enjoy being subjected to sexual abuse and humiliation is absolutely disgusting and offensive, and should be condemned by any decent, civilized person. Teneycke should apologize to me and Marc for this horrendously cruel comment.
